Story:
Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards has been arraigned on drunk driving charges after police pulled him over on Manhattan's West Side early Tuesday morning.The 27-year-old football player was arrested around 5 a.m. at 34th Street and 12th Avenue.
According to the New York City Police Department, police say they smelled alcohol on Edwards' breath after pulling him over because his Range Rover had overly-tinted windows. Tests revealed that he had a blood alcohol content of .08.
Edwards was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and one charge of driving while impaired.
In a statement, Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum says, "We are very disappointed in Braylon’s actions this morning.... We are reviewing the information with the league and will impose the appropriate disciplinary measures."
No bail was set for Edwards and he was released on his own recognizance.
